Bellman in Seoul.

Last updated: 12/01/2012 // Koreans have taken a keen interest to the Norwegian popartist Bellman. He recently released the widely acclaimed debut record “Mainly Mute” and second album “The Curse” in the country and according to Arne-Johan Rauan reception has been simply overwhelming.

The one man band is named after the alias of Rauan, whose voice reviewers has described as “Unique, light and relaxing”. Bellman’s music has been labeled dreamy indiepop with a stroke of postrock and as combining elements from both Radiohead and Sigur Rós. Now he arrives in Seoul to meet his new fans and attract even more. If you are curious about the band, but do not want to buy a CD just yet, you can listen to their new single “I Suppose” for free.

Norwegian musicians are increasingly looking to Korea as a promising market for their music. Last autumn three Norwegian jazzartists visited the country and the famous popduo Kings of Convinience has toured Seoul several times.

If you are seeking that warm and magical feeling during chilly winter days, you should use this opportunity to experience Bellman first hand.
