A continuous exhibition showing Norwegian nature, history and culture has been featured at the Samgakji subway station since April 2011. The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Seoul is hosting a fun and entertaining competition at the exhibition from 22 February to 21 March.
As a participant you photograph yourself (and maybe some friends) in front of the exhibition pretending like you are in Norway, or on your way there. After taking the pictures you upload to them to Travelro`s event website. Easy as that, and you are in the competition!
Our goal is to promote the general interest in Norway while providing everyone that joins a fun and entertaining experience. In that regard Torbjørn Holthe, the Norwegian ambassador in South Korea, states that: “We are really looking forward to having this interactive approach to our exhibition at the Samgakji station. Many people have commented on the exhibition, and we hope this will be a fun way to get in touch with the Koreans and give them an opportunity to get to know more about Norway. Some lucky ones will even get to go there for real”.
The Norwegian Embassy in Seoul is hosting the event in cooperation with the Seoul Metropolitan Rapid Transit Corporation and travel-community, as well as social media website, Travelro. There are two ways of participating in the contest:
- Upload photos to the Travelro event-website.
- Upload the photos via the iPhone-application “Trip here”.
We will award the most interesting and fun pictures and give each winning contributor one of our many prizes:
1st prize is a round flight ticket to Norway to two persons. Sponsored by Qatar Air.
2nd prize is 2 high-quality digital cameras. Sponsored by Det Norske Veritas.
3rd prize is Sea food buffet restaurant coupons for 2 people. Sponsored by The Norwegian Tourist Board in Seoul.
4th prize is the debut album Mainly Mute from the Norwegian pop artist ‘Bellman’ who recently toured South Korea. In all 20 CDs will be awarded.
The winners will be pronounced on 28 March and an award-ceremony will take place at the Ambassador’s residence on 12 of April with a buffet dinner.
The exhibition is located at several sites in the station. It starts from entrance 11 and 12 and continues to the subway-platform and transferring area at line 6. The competition is open for all nationalities.
