In South Korea you gan go to Norway whenever you want. At the Samgakji station the Norwegian embassy is running a continuous exhibition, in part framed in structures that resemble Norwegian nature.
The participators took pictures of themselves in front of the exhibition, pretending like they were in Seoul. «The motivation has been making South Koreans have an active attitude towards Norway and the exhibition», said the Norwegian ambassador in South Korea, Torbjørn Holthe.
Over 1200 pictures have been uploaded and Holthe is very content with the competition outcome: «By involving the Koreans themselves, with an entertaining concept, the competition has received a lot of attention. The creativity and commitment of many of the participators has nothing short of staggering. » The competition has also been given attention from both media and bypassers. «Samgakji station has been turned into a unique playground in Seoul. For the prize of a subway ticket you can bring your family and friends to Norway! » commented an enthusiastic subway traveler after the winners were announced.
At the award evening all participators joined embassy staff and cooperative partners for a buffet style dinner, and prizegiving. The two winners of the first prize will even get to go to Norway themselves.
The embassy cooperation partners for the competition have been Travelro, Bratt Moro, Seoul Metropolitan Rapid Transit Corporation, Det Norske Veritas, Qatar Airways og The Norwegian Tourist Board. You can have a look at all the competition pictures here.
